I have a set of Calphalon stainless and it's worked well for me. The selling point was the see-through glass lids. It's held up well over the past couple of years. However, despite teh 'stay cool' handle claim, you have to watch out because they do get hot. The construction is pretty sturdy as well; I prefer this to their anodized line.

Whisk a béarnaise, thicken a stock, or prepare a stew from sauté to simmer with this versatile chef's pan. Gently sloping 5-inch sides speed evaporation for faster reductions, and a rounded bottom perimeter helps you scrape out every last spoonful of sauce. There's one long handle for stovetop cooking and an extra "helper handle" for safer lifting when the dish is full, and both stay cool to the touch no matter how much things heat up in your kitchen. This chef's pan is even dishwasher safe.Like all of the products in Calphalon's moderately priced Pots & Pans line, this chef's pan offers an exceptional value in good-looking, sturdy, and durable cookware. Built out of 18/10 stainless steel that is impact bonded to a highly conductive aluminum bottom, it responds quickly to temperature changes and heats evenly across its entire surface. The brushed stainless exterior with mirror accents looks as elegant as anything with a higher price tag. And, thankfully, Calphalon seems to have discontinued its raised-dot interior surface in the stainless steel version of its Pots & Pans cookware; the dot pattern was intended to sear food and drain moisture, but many found it hard to clean.
