Customer Review: Disappointing oven mitts

When I read the reviews of several others, who indicated that these oven mitts were unusually large and long, I suspected that they might be just what I needed, since I have larger than average hands. So, I ordered two, one for each hand.
Unfortunately, it appears that those who wrote about the excess size of these mitts must have had small to average sized hands. I can get into them but it's a tight fit.
Also, I guess I've grown accustomed to my prior style, which were, actually, a pair of steel smelter's gloves, with 4 finger and thumb sections. These mitten styles gloves are snug and awkward, for me. They don't provide the maneuverability of fingered gloves. My glove size is 2X, admittedly larger than most. The length of the gloves, going up the forearm, was, also, a disappointment. They only covered a few inches of my forearm. I had expected them to be much longer, to protect my forearms from burns, while reaching into a deep oven.
Lastly, the insulating qualities leave much to be desired. I can't get much over 6 feet, with a hot pan, without feeling the heat start to penetrate.
I cannot recommend these.
